As students get older, the pressure increases for them to wear what's "in". This can often lead to fights and other violence in schools. School uniforms reduce violence because they limit the tendency for confrontation between students. Many schools report that the majority of fights among their students are due to students being bullied about what they wear to school. By mandating students wear a school uniform, this issue can be removed and many school fights can be avoided.
